Background
|
6 Degrees of Freedom, LLC was started by Carmen P. DiGiovine in 2006 to meet an unmet need for individuals with disabilities. This need developed as a result of the advancement of assistive technology devices and the ever-increasing requirements to include greater levels of justification during the assistive technology service delivery process. As assistive technology devices improved, thereby increasing the number or customized solutions, so did the opportunities for increased integration across technologies. Furthermore, the push for the utilization of evidence-based practice increased in order to address the need to justify assistive technology services and devices. Therefore, 6 Degrees of Freedom, was developed to address the need for integration of technologies to meet the need of individuals with disabilities, and to provide the quantitative measurement and analysis processes that are the core of evidence-based practice. |
