Educational Environment

As technology integration specialists we provide assistive technology services to students in primary and secondary school systems (K-12). These services include assessment, implementation, training, follow-up and follow-along. In order to provide an unbiased perspective during the service delivery process, we do not sell assistive technology equipment. However, given our collaborative relationship with assistive technology manufacturers, we have the ability to obtain and evaluate demonstration equipment during the overall assessment process. The quantitative nature of the tests and measurements that are a core component of evidence-based practice is inherent to the clinical rehabilitation engineering services. A multidisciplinary approach is the core of the services necessary to meet the student’s educational goals, while consulting with an interdisciplinary group of professionals across service delivery models. We have the ability to integrate, customize, and when necessary modify the assistive technologies obtained through both the rehabilitation service delivery model and the educational service delivery model.  Finally, we provide consultation on the safe transportation of students with a disability.
